You can always just play casually at the kitchen table with 1-4 friends if you have some friends who want to get into MTG
You can get around this by adding "up to one target" (though the whole thing will still fizzle if the opponent can remove/hexproof the target in response)
If youre simply looking for generically powerful cards to add to your cEDH decks, while there may be a hidden gem somewhere (V.A.T.S.), most of these cards wont make the cut
The best case here absolutely clears the bar: you get to steal whatever the opponent was trying to cast: you can re-target their removal, hijack their draw spell, or have their permanent spell become your permanent property
The game was very different then, with a much smaller card pool, less lore and many rules that fell out of favor, such as ante, a full-blown gambling component of the game
Hallowed Haunting was good, although we never really got it going too hard, but the addition of the Black splash was phenomenal
