Obstinate Baloth isnt the freight train that he used to be for his size in most formats, but in The Brothers War a 4/4 for 4 is not common (Greens only common 4 power creature for example is a 4/2), and it gives him, and other green monsters effective hitting power
They can power up your monsters, weaken or destroy enemy monsters, make it easier to Xyz Summon, and a whole lot more
