The beauty of Ash Zealot is that it was very good in any red deck, while Scourge Wolf without delirium will only be serviceable, but good in decks that are willing to invest the time and resources in activating delirium as quickly as possible
If you're playing against a person that you know is playing Chaos Orb (which would be an incredibly rare sight given that the card is not only rare and expensive, but is also illegal in every format except for non-sanctioned games), then you could possibly take advantage of these quirks
