Warping for four mana ensures it'll leave the battlefield and trigger at the end of turn, while there's a chance it could stay stuck in play if you pay full whack
The reason why I count it in the damaging part of the plan is because this card hurts us for drawing as well, so the relevant part in it is the damage dealt and not so much the extra card
(So much so that now most of the cheap acceleration we make costs at least two mana.) You can start powering out your threats quicker than your opponent, putting you at a sizable advantage

This and Stony Silence completely shut down activated abilities from artifacts, including most mana rocks, Treasures, Clues, and other small artifact tokens
